Horrible customer service-- will hold your money hostage

The Dump has horrible customer service. They do not answer the phone, return voicemails, or return emails. If you return something you buy from them, they will hold your refund money indefinitely and make it impossible for you to receive the refund. I would never recommend this store, people should shop anywhere else!

Awaiting Refund on Returned Furniture

Queen bed was delivered an hour and half beyond allotted time frame; headboard was defective and approved for replacement by the FSN representative. During the FSN inspection, I notified him that the drawers from the footboard was not aligned.

Upon further investigation, the drawers, rails and foot board were not in alignment. In speaking with Customer Care for the third time to resolve the first issue, they suggested to send another FSN representative. The inconvenience of scheduling time off from work, waiting patiently for another visit for a third day was not an option. The furniture was picked up two weeks later and returned to stock on 9.21.23; confirmed with Customer Care on 9.22.23.

Since that date, I have contacted Customer Care daily, visited the actual store to speak with a manager who was not available, called Customer Service again and was advised they spoke with someone (she did not get a name) and left my contact number for a follow-up.

The Customer Care representative has been sympathetic to my frustration and assured me that the ledger amount for the return was forwarded to the store directly; she advised further processing is to be completed by the store directly. I have yet to receive a phone call, e-mail, voice message, text, any form of communication since my bed has been picked up and returned to stock.

Id like to list a complaint about how unprofessional, delayed, unresponsive the warranty company has been. They are supposed to repair any damage, and have pushed me off again and again. Its November and I filed for a repair in July.

Serta Mattress warranty not supported.

Bought $2000 Serta Mattress that came with 10 year warranty. Mattress failed during warranty period. Followed the dump's instructions: submitted claim, photos and all paperwork in August 2023. Got lots of excuses from the Dump saying they were at the mercy of the vendor waiting for their response. Called today 10/20/2023 and was told vendor (vendor still a mystery) rejected the claim. Three months of excuses and today a call center employee said the claim was denied because of stains on mattress. There are no stains on te mattress.

Bed doesn’t have enough slats or box spring

Hey can you please help me Ive been waiting for this delivery since a while and was told Id be able to sleep on a bed tonight but it only has 5 slats and no box spring. There were supposed to be more slats or atleast the box spring. Have a blessed evening and please help

My wife and I purchased a mattress from The Dump, and they delivered a defective mattress to us. When we filed a complaint, they said due to the impressions on the mattress, there was nothing they could do. This is after they sent a mattress inspector to our home to check it out. We hadn't even slept on it! We'd never had a problem with them prior to them getting bought out by Haynes Furniture. DON'T SHOP HERE!

Shady sales practices. No customer engagement/support

I placed sales on 11/26/21 at the Atlanta location for a set which includes a loveseat, a chaise, and 3 ottomans.

The ottomans were not available, and I was not allowed to take the display item. I was informed the loveseat and the chaise were to be delivered on 12/01/21 (which they were) as a partial delivery, while the ottomans were to be delivered within two months, and I would be contacted with the delivery date.

Based on those stipulations, I decided to purchase all the set and paid in full on site.

I didnt hear back from The Dump for two months (except daily emails with ads) and decided to send messages online through the Contact Us form starting on 2/01/22. After three messages and no response, I sent a message through the online text message option on 2/05/22 asking for a status of my order. I received a reply to that message on my phone stating that my order was pushed to May/June.

I asked to be informed as to what options Id have, including canceling the order and obtain a refund. The reply to that message was that I would be getting a call with instructions.

I waited until today 2/10/21 to reply to that text thread informing that no one has called me yet.

I got a reply and received a call back from the Atlanta location. I asked about me seeing online (ww.thedump.com) the ottoman as available in other locations and if they can ship it to the Atlanta location for delivery (which I already paid). I was told that I needed to contact their Ecommerce Support department to inquire about what other options I may have. Contacted Ecommerce pending their reply...

Needless to say, all the above is becoming a very frustrating experience with The Dump.

Id like to know if/when I can get the missing parts from my order which I paid for.

3/21/22 UPDATE: Still waiting a resolution from this place. Numerous calls, where I've been put on hold for up to two hours just to be hung up on. I did my research and there is inventory in other locations, to which they keep telling me they are looking into this. At this point I will file a complaint with the BBB (which already has this place with a D rating), and will be looking into small claims.

Never again.

Hope I will get the rest of the order which I paid for, or get all of my money back as I bought the set as a 'set' (not to be left with half of it because of their negligence and lack of business ethics). Stay away from this place or be ready and ok to have many headaches (and check their reviews because mine is not an isolated case).

Preferred solution: Deliver product ordered and paid for in Nov 2021 within two weeks, or pick up half of the order delivered in Dec 2021 and issue a full refund for the entire order.

User's recommendation: Savings of a few tens of dollars would not make up for the headaches that this place might give you. Unless there's a piece of furniture that's available right there and then, and you can take with you, I wouldn't venture to risk making business with this company. Please do your research (BBB, blogs, reviews).

We purchased a sofa set from The Dump for around $3000. It began peeling after we started really using our family room- about a year later. The sofa, loveseat (which has not really been used), and the chair (which has barely been used) are all peeling. They sold this furniture as bonded leather but its really vinyl!! I cant wait for the class action lawsuit that will ultimately send them out of business!

I paid for an extended warranty on my couch... took GBC 2 months to get it all sorted out, but once they got it worked out, and it went to the dump, it has been a nonstop battle.

The location here in Pa is closed, so it has been chaos. After 6 weeks, I finally got a date of delivery ... Date came and went (9/29/21), and no call or furniture. For the next 3 weeks I called every day to every other day ...

they always say they will call back, they never call back. Finally got someone who I thought was helping but yeah dead end.... At one point Susan Hangarter, Customer Service Manager contact us and said we refused delivery charges, which is funny since we were NEVER told about them and suddenly we are suppose to come up with 400+....

so I am at my wits end... I just want my stuff, there was $200 left over from the new set I picked out I would be fine if they would take that and put it towards the fee and ill pay the rest but I just want my stuff :(

This message is to advise you of the excellent customer service that I received on 12/9/2021 from a young man named Sultan who works at the Buckhead store on Sydney Marcus. Mr. Sultan is the epitome of excellent customer service. I came in to cancel an order made in August. Since my debit card was replaced with a new one, it was difficult to refund. Mr. Sultan offered every possible solution to get my refund back to me expeditiously although management was giving him all drawbacks instead of viable solutions. I have never seen such warmth and caring offered. He called me and kept me abreast of what was happening. I retired from a management position in sales and customer care. He is truly an asset to your company. He is the type of employee that exudes care and "what a personality". Please advise him to keep up the good work. Give him a raise for me. Furniture delivered damaged. Repairs scheduled. Parts needed. Parts never came and serviceman has disappeared. Customer sevice promises followup but it nevet comes. Furniture ordered in July, delivered in August, still not right.

Botched sales ethics

Sales person Patsy called me earlier and told me that another sales representative had sold 3 of MY dining chairs, which I had paid for in full!

I am being told by Patsy and some worthless, powerless manager type named Kirk that "Its against company policy to simply break the floor model and take 3 chairs so my order would be complete" and I (the customer) would be happy and satisfied. It's NOT MY FAULT that some bonehead was able to steal my chairs!

All I'm trying to do is get my dining set as promised by a representative of your company, as planned. It's NOT MY PROBLEM if you have to eat the potential losses by breaking up the floor model...and waiting for the replacement items to come in.

The waiting for me (the customer) is totally unacceptable.

I am basically demanding that your company honor the legally binding sales agreement at once. I can and will get legal help if needed from my daughter in law.

I await your favorable response.

Doesn't surprise me. I wonder how many people are told a deceiving sales pitch which makes you buy from them just to have them not deliver on their promises arguing "unprecedented times", or "inventory miscount", or xxxx

Bad furniture

I bought furniture that was damaged when the dump delivered it. I'm trying to contact them to get a refund because its falling apart every day. I did receive a call from the company but I was not able to answer the call . Once I called them back a minute later, it was a recorder stating the called could not be answered due to the customer service number was unavailable. They advised me to use the website to contact the dump. I need to talk to someone about my furniture.
